Getting Started

The following sections provide information about how to launch the AskAnywhere Administrator and some general information to help you get acquainted with using it.

Launching the AskAnywhere Administrator

To launch the AskAnywhere Administrator, complete the following steps.

  1. Start Tomcat.
  2. Click here to view a detailed graphic.

  3. From your web browser, go to http://x.x.x.x:8080/askanywhere/servlet/askanywhere.conf (where “x.x.x.x” is the IP address of your AskAnywhere server).  The Login screen appears.  Enter a valid user name and password and select Log In.  To clear the values in the User Name and Password fields, select Reset.

Click here to view a detailed graphic.Note:  For security purposes, the system logs you off after 29 minutes of inactivity.  At that time, the system displays a window to indicate that you have been logged out.  To log in to the AskAnywhere Administrator again, select Click Here to Log In Again.

Becoming Familiar with the AskAnywhere Administrator

  • Information on the various screens throughout the AskAnywhere Administrator is saved only after you submit each individual screen.
  • Click here to view a detailed graphic.
  • To determine the version of the AskAnywhere Administrator you are using, select the light bulb in the upper right corner of any AskAnywhere Click here to view a detailed graphic.Administrator screen.  The system then displays a window identifying the version (e.g., 1.0.0) you are using.
  • Click here to view a detailed graphic.
  • To log out of the AskAnywhere Administrator, select Log Out from the upper right corner of any AskAnywhere Administrator screen.  The system then Click here to view a detailed graphic.displays a window verifying that you have been logged out.  If you want to log in to the AskAnywhere Administrator again, select Click Here to Log In Again.
