Using the Snap Feature

AskAnywhere features an invisible "snap-to-grid" that enables you to more accurately position frames on a page. By choosing the snap-to-grid option, invisible grid lines (separated by a preset number of pixels) are placed on the page. For example, if you select the Snap 5 pixels option, grid lines are separated by 5 pixels each. Then, whenever you move frames by dragging them, the system places the upper left corner of the frame at the intersection of the closest grid lines. To assist in the movement of frames, the X and Y coordinates for the selected frame are displayed in the main toolbar.

Select graphic to view a larger image. To use the snap feature, from the Utilities menu, select Snap and then the desired snap number from the subsequent menu.

Select graphic to view a larger image. If you select Snap…, the following window, which prompts you to enter a number, opens. Enter the number you wish to set as the number of pixels to which frames will snap.

To temporarily override the snap feature and move an item as if No Snap has been selected, hold the ALT key while dragging the item you want to move.
