Timing Questionnaire Respondents | Finding Text

The following sections provide information about timing respondents taking a questionnaire and finding specific characters within a questionnaire.

Timing Questionnaire Respondents

AskAnywhere enables you to collect data regarding how much time a respondent spends on a specific page(s) of a questionnaire.

To time questionnaire respondents, complete the following steps.

  1. Select Timing Pages from the Utilities menu or select Ctrl + T.
  2. Select graphic to view a larger image.

  3. The Timing window opens. Under the Start column, enter the page number on which you would like to begin timing; and under the End column, enter the page number on which you would like to finish timing. The following example would time respondents on pages 1, 3, 4, and 5.

  4. To save the current timing instructions, select Ok. To cancel the changes you made and close the Timing window, select Cancel.

Finding Text

To locate a specific character or set of characters within a questionnaire, complete the following steps.

  1. Select Find from the Edit menu or select Ctrl + F. Note: The Find option can be found on any number of screens through out the AskAnywhere Editor (e.g., Question Editing window, Answer Editing window).
  2. Select graphic to view a larger image.The Find window opens. Enter the character(s) you wish to locate.

  3. Notes:

    • The find function is not case specific; therefore, if you enter "caffeinated", it will find all occurrences of the word "caffeinated" (e.g., "caffeinated", "Caffeinated", "CAFFEINATED", etc.).
    • We recommend that you search for words or portions of words (not phrases) as the system will only find phrases if they are not split from one line to another in your questionnaire.

  4. To find the first occurrence of the given character(s), select Ok. To cancel the search and exit the Find window, select Cancel.
  5. Select graphic to view a larger image.

  6. To locate the next instance of the same character(s), select Find Next from the Edit menu or select Ctrl + G. Note: The Find Next option can be found on any number of screens through out the AskAnywhere Editor (e.g., Question Editing window, Answer Editing window).
