Bowling Green, Ohio, December 27, 1996 - Senecio Software, Inc. today announced that it is shipping Flo•Stat 2, a low cost solution to the knowledge worker's everyday need for basic statistical reporting and analysis.

"The Macintosh user has a number of excellent statistical packages to choose from. However, while these packages offer a wide array of statistical procedures, many users are turned off by the substantial resource demands, high cost and steep learning curve. We know there are many users who struggle with what should be simple, everyday information processing tasks," said Jerry Wicks, president of Senecio Software. "Flo•Stat 2 is aimed at the entry level -- low cost, works with as little as 2mb of RAM and can be used right out of the box. Although Flo•Stat's price clearly targets the low end of the market, users will be pleasantly surprised with its data transformation capabilities, file management features and range of statistical procedures."

Features

Flo•Stat 2 handles files containing a thousand variable and tens of thousands of cases. Each cell in the data matrix can store strings of 8,000 characters as well as links to PICT and QuickTime Moov files for viewing. Variable names and value labels are easy to add and modify. Flo•Stat 2 reads and writes tab-delimited and SPSS portable files. Statistical procedures include: reports, descriptives, samples, frequencies, mult response, t-test, ANOVA, crosstabs and banner crosstabs, nonparametrics, correlation and partial correlation, and multiple regression.

Flo•Stat 2 requires an Apple Macintosh II or newer, with 2mb of free RAM, a hard disk and MacOS 6.0.7 or higher. QuickTime 1.5 or higher is required to process PICT and Mov files.

Flo•Stat 2 (ISBN 1-884386-01-6) is shipping and lists for $149. An introductory MacWorld Expo special of $129 is offered through the end of January, 1997. Educational discounts are available, along with lab-packs and a student version (ISBN 1-884386-02-4) for $49.
